Trainees and apprentices learn the best sets of skills required in performing high-quality work in their chosen fields. More importantly, graduates of the training and apprenticeship can get more opportunities in the building trades industry.

We strongly believe that apprenticeship is the key to the future. More construction workers are needed over the next 10 years, hence training and recruiting qualified laborers has become more important than ever. With hands-on jobsite training and classrooms provided by the Laborers’ District Council of Delaware, apprentices are equipped with the right skills set to overcome the competitive market.

We are affiliated with the AGC Education and Training Fund which enables the District Council of Delaware to understand and make use of an unprecedented national education network, up-to-date safety training, and 350 professional instructors. In addition, it also helps the council to tap into specialty skills training within the high-risk, high-cost, and high-tech markets.

To qualify for the Laborers’ apprenticeship, candidates should be at least 18 years old, can understand English, and with high school diploma or GED. This type of education that will be provided for the trainees will help them build a better future and a more stable career in the industry in utility work, environmental, building, and heavy highway. Laborers-AGC ensures that LIUNA members and local funds get all the support they need for the curriculum and training.

We are always looking for highly-motivated men and women who are interested in a career in the construction trades and are committed to our union values.
Experience in construction is desired but not necessary. The right attitude and willingness to work hard is ALWAYS required.
